Self-love leads you to your greatest joy

Sometimes you find yourself on the receiving end of judgement, invalidation or disapproval from others. Maybe it was something you said or did that triggered their insecurities, but it is certainly not something you are responsible for. It is not yours to fix or heal.

These situations are truly blessings in disguise since as a result of this experience you will grow and learn a whole lot more about yourself than you may previously have been aware of. You may notice that the degree to which you react to someone else’s projections directed at you is the degree to which you actually believe what they are saying. Or in others words, it is the degree to which you have lost your space and are matching their insecurities. If you are able to remain neutral here, then congratulations: it means you have cleared your matching pictures. On the other hand, if it seems like you’ve hit a wall, it is because your self-image is in some way hooked into how others see you.

As a result you might even get angry at them, since your expectations about how others should behave and act around you have been disappointed. You lost your space and your amusement. Not an issue in and of itself, but the goal is to return to neutrality and have your space back.

The truth is you cannot control how others see you, receive you or react to you. That is not your space or place to have a say in. Everyone makes their decisions and creates their own karma. It is between them and Source.

The healing step here is to move everybody else’s energy out of your self-image space and define it for yourself with the vibration of self-love instead. Then, no matter how many people are on your side or supportive of you, you can do your own thing, speak your truth, be true to yourself and not give a damn about what others think of you. What others think of you is none of your business anyway.

Self-love, seeing the value and worth in yourself regardless of whether others can see it or not is the mark of a true leader. This kind of leadership may not be about leading the masses, conquering lands or roaring like a lion. Rather, it is about the ability to quietly work on your own even when facing opposition. With self-love you are able to do the right thing even when all odds are stacked against you, because you have your space and freedom to be authentic and are not phased by temporary dramas.

The healing balm of self-love allows you to accept and embrace everything about yourself, not just the good and easy parts. There are parts of your beingness that have been hidden away in the unconscious for a long time. Old fear-based belief systems may have caused you to repress these parts about yourself as dark, evil or wicked. It is only with the nurturing light of self-love that those parts can come out to the surface and finally be seen, healed and owned by you. And as you own more of yourself, including the uncomfortable and the dark parts, you will be able to more easily let go of all those external power struggles, battles and disagreements with others where you felt you had to defend yourself. With your energy freed up from fighting with others, more of it will be available to you and free to use for creating something wonderful in the moment. You step out of competition with Source.

The greatest truth is that truly nothing about what others say or do is ever personal to you, especially when it seems like it is! Rather, everyone are having their own conversations with Source and more often than not, those conversations can happen through you. Validate that you are part of a greater whole that works and creates blessings through you. Your whole beingness in itself is a blessing.

Eco-communities are the bright green future of mankind

It’s the last day of 2017 and I spent most of this afternoon roaming around the forest nearby our house in Risti, located in the Western Estonia. My body felt very nurtured as I circulated lots of Earth energy and communicated with the energy of the land.

I am deeply inspired and in awe of the beautiful nature around here. Truly, Estonian land and people are extremely blessed with some of the most ancient and untouched forests. As I walked along a trail I came across many amazing photo opportunities and became more and more uplifted by the smells, sights and sensations.

Then I walked past an area where a chunk of the forest had been cut down and only tree stumps had remained. This had been a relatively small part of the forest and the trees from there are probably being used as firewood or building material. All well and good, but somehow I was overcome by very deep sadness and tears began to fall. I could just see the beautiful and innocent ecosystem, that this part of the forest had been, completely destroyed by humans. Perhaps the owners of this land are wise enough to plant two trees for every single tree that they choose to cut down, but seeing this destruction made me think of the same happening all across the globe. For example, right now beautiful Indonesian rainforests are being cut down by greedy corporations just to plant palm trees for oil production. Very, very sad indeed considering that ecosystems are being destroyed that had been vital to various species of animal, bird, insect and plant. We have yet to see the true effect of man’s greed on the planet’s climate.

There is already a growing awareness of climate change and this has been around for many decades. People are becoming increasingly aware of how their small everyday actions affect the nature around them and the planet as a whole. One of the marks of an awakened species is awareness of one another and the environment and we as a collective are finally beginning to wake up. One of the key lessons for us a collective is noticing that there is a direct correlation between the way we treat one another on the small everyday scale and how we treat the planet below our feet.

We humans are an interesting species. On the one hand, we are a wonderful creation of Source, blessed with much curiosity and intelligence and yet on the other hand plagued by a sense of entitlement and completely deluded by the belief that we somehow ‘own’ this planet. Few awakened beings have realised that one can truly only own one’s own energy and space. This means that one only truly ever has control over one’s own thoughts, words, actions and choices. We do not own this planet, rather we are visitors here. Through a beautiful, mysterious and perfect series of choices and decisions made as a collective consciousness, we ended up here on this planet. Being human and being alive is a wonderful experience filled with both beauty as well as challenges, however, we are not here to stay for an eternity. We do not have that luxury in a Universe that is constantly changing. Just as people have their cycles of lives, so does the Earth. We are currently part of an extremely beautiful time in the Earth’s evolution and as a species we hold the responsibility to ensure that the Earth remains in that beautiful condition that it still is in.

Through the senseless and unkind actions of many selfish and greedy humans we are seeing what damage has already been done to Earth. We must change our ways before it’s too late. Already there has been a rise of eco-warriors and people coming together to live in communities that are based around completely natural and Earth-based values. These people are renouncing the ways of the old consumerist society and adopt habits and behaviours that are essentially friendly towards the Earth. There are truly many, many steps we can each take immediately to support this eco-movement, such as: recycling, saving water, saving electricity, switching to eco-friendly household products and appliances, shopping locally and buying from your local farmer, avoiding GMO products and growing your own organic fruit and veggies, and much more. Truly, the list is endless, I could go on and on.

The time frame that we are currently into in the Earth’s and humanity’s history is the paradigm shift from a Young soul world to a Mature soul world. That is, we are collectively switching from a competition-based world-view to a community-based world-view. This isn’t necessarily an easy process and lots of growth pain is involved, especially for those that have little consciousness of what is happening. It’s similar to a child becoming a teenager and learning about his responsibilities in the world at large. Isolating oneself, playing the lone wolf and the ‘I win, you lose’ attitude no longer works; now it’s all about joining others so that life becomes a win-win for all.

The eco-communities represent all of what is truly the most optimal for the future of mankind. In these communities no one gets left by the wayside, not a person, animal or plant. Everyone is given a purpose to fulfil, everyone has a place and deserves compassionate love. As we take good care of one another and the Earth, we will have graduated to a whole new way of being.

Slowing down

Have you noticed the ever-increasing speed of daily living lately? There seems to be ever so much more to do and ever so little time to just be.

With so much ‘bad news’ constantly thrown at us via the media our bodies are overloaded with stress. If you are quite sensitive, then this collective stress can make it almost impossible for you to take that much needed quiet time for yourself. So many people to heal!

What is behind the inability to stop and just be is quite frankly the lack of space. I’m not talking about physical space here, although that could be a factor, too. I’m talking about energetic space – the space you need for you to be You. That space is your aura, your body and your chakras. If your space is crowded with all kinds of foreign energy, daily life can become an effort. It may seem like a lot of hard work to even just sit down and eat.

The reason why we give away our space to others is an underlying trauma or a fear-based pattern. That pattern can keep you busy as though your survival depended on it. Perhaps at one point it did!

That inner lack of space keeps you constantly on the move, constantly responding to everyone’s demands. And thus avoiding the simplicity, stillness and the elegant emptiness of the present moment. It can be quite uncomfortable to sit with the emptiness of the moment.

One of the ways you can instantly de-stress, heal yourself and allow yourself to be more present in the moment is to retreat into a natural environment such as a forest. The physical body is very instinctive and effortlessly relaxes around the healing sounds and sensations of nature. Forests have such a natural rhythm, which the body recognises and immediately begins to match to.

During my stay at our countryside home in Western Estonia throughout the months of July and August this year, I was in constant awe of how very relaxed and at ease my body felt all the time. It’s a very beautiful and healing location. Our house there is surrounded by thick forests all around. Every day I was greeted by clean air and birdsong – I found it very easy to ground myself in that space. On the other hand, this sense of ease and groundedness contrasts heavily with how my body feels while I’m staying at my apartment here in Southern England. There are woods here, of course, but I have to walk a distance to get there.

When there aren’t any forests near you, then another easy way that you can de-stress your sensitive body is to create some quiet space and meditate. You may meditate with a guided meditation audio of some kind or you could simply sit in silence, basking in the beauty of the moment. Your meditation may include chanting or visualisations as preferred. Everyone has their own way of meditating that is suitable for them – there is no perfect way to meditate, no ‘one size fits all’. I would like to invite you to notice whether you have any judgements about how you meditate. And if you do notice any, then go ahead and release those right now.

I am running weekly Sunday meditations here at our Eastbourne location at the Pannarai Healing Studio. The class is for everyone and no previous experience is required. Or if you can’t be here in person, you could join our phone classes. ‘Meditation 1’, the 6 week class, is beginning Sunday, September 24. This class is a good starting point to learning to meditate and to heal yourself.

Soul age perspective

When people put pressure, expectations and demands on you based on their own limited perspective, you may end up feeling invalidated or unseen. The remedy here is to lovingly express your truths in order to take back your freedom.

It’s very easy for these situations to crop up around family where you may be expected to fulfill roles that you do not like or feel comfortable in. You may even still be carrying around old expectations from your parents even if you are no longer in contact with them – the pictures are still there. There’s no need to become defensive or to take anyone personally, because everyone are being and doing their best with where they currently are at in their own spiritual evolution and paths.

Spiritually speaking all of us have a different history of incarnations and different experience of living in physical bodies. The different ways of doing and seeing things are based on different soul age perspective.

Young souls learn through doing, competition, action, being better than others. They seek to dominate rather than co-operate. The third chakra is the most dominant chakra for them and the main lessons they are learning are around willpower and energy management.

Mature souls learn through deep emotions, drama, relationships, going deep within and creativity. The dominant chakra for them is the fourth chakra and the primary lesson they are learning has to do with self-love.

Old souls learn through teaching others, philosophy, spirituality, going deep, high and basically everywhere. The Old soul perspective has the capacity for unconditional love and is all-embracing at its best. the most dominant chakra for them is the fifth chakra and the primary lessons they are learning are around authentic self-expression.

The Mature soul can easily do the things the Young soul does if asked to do so, but would feel incomplete or insufficient. In the same way, the Old soul can do the things the Young souls do and the things the Mature souls do, but would feel unfulfilled and unhappy when not living up to their fullest potential.

Truth is, you have a unique role to play here on Earth and only you can truly know what it is. If you really want to make a difference around here, you need to take the time to still the noise within and around you, go within, meditate and commune with your Essence in order to find out what your true purpose is. Find out what you true soul age perspective is so you can give your highest and deepest gift to humanity.

If you are surrounded by others who are younger souls in soul age perspective, it is easy to feel invalidated and you may begin to try and match them at their level. Doing this may be easier since you will avoid condemnation and being seen as the weird one or the odd one out. However, the price you will pay is that you will feel unfulfilled and unhappy.

For example, Old souls need a lot of time to just be and do very little so they can process and explore energy on a spiritual level. While the body may be relatively inactive physically, there is a lot going on behind the scenes! So, drop any judgements you may have about yourself and others. Also, you don’t have to explain yourself to anyone either.

If you are waiting for others to come and validate you, you may end up waiting a very long time indeed. Instead, be the leader and take the time to go within and validate yourself. No one can truly know you as well as you do, so it is up to you to build a loving and trusting relationship with yourself.

A good way to start connecting with your own truth is to meditate. ‘Meditation 1’, the basic intuitive skills class, begins soon in September. Enrol in the psychic kindergarten in order to learn the tools necessary to kick out any energy from your space that is not yours, so you have more space to be your true authentic self.

Your values create safety for you

In our everyday lives we deal with constant change and unpredictability and if we are not grounded into our own solid set of values, it can be easy to get thrown about by everyone else’s agendas.

One surefire way to tell that you may be participating in something that is not for your highest good is a sense of anxiety that seems to come out of nowhere. Your body is always communicating with you and anxiety is its way of telling you that somewhere along the line something is out of integrity. Typically there may be a situation where you need to speak up, be heard and make some changes. Whatever it may be, it is in your best interests to trust your body’s truthful guidance and wisdom.

Of course, as a sensitive and empathic being, you may also be matching to someone else’s emotional landscape. You may very well be taking on the troubles and pain of everyone else and unwittingly being the container for others to process their stuff. However, it is crucial to realise that the only person whose pain you can ever really heal and take ownership of is your own.

You can only gently guide others to the wellspring of their inner wisdom, but you can not make them drink.

The healing step here is to always seek to release what is not yours and always come back home to yourself. It might help to take a look at why you may be matching to others and see if you can perhaps get grounded within yourself instead.

A well known practice for many new intuitives, and especially for many in the New Age community, is that of ‘shielding’ or ‘protecting’ oneself with a bubble or any other similar intention. The idea behind this is to ‘keep out’ other people’s stuff. And underlying this idea is the fear that others can somehow intrude upon our spaces, that we are somehow victims to their energy. Quite frankly, the truth about this technique is that it is isolating. It is not at all necessary to use ‘shielding’ when we are in touch with who we really are. The healing step here is again to bring your awareness back to yourself and see what is being triggered in you to want to protect yourself. Maybe you are feeling vulnerable?

The only protection as such that you’ll ever need is to have a solid inner core of boundaries and clarity about who you are and who you are not. You can always lean on this inner core when the times are difficult somehow.

Instead of ‘shielding’ I would recommend using grounding instead. You can use your connection with the Earth below your feet to release what is not yours and to connect with the truths in your heart. Grounding is a cornerstone of the ‘Basic intuitive skills’ class and all of the intuitive practices at the Hello EssenceJoy Healing Centre.

The beautiful thing here is that the Universe supports you when you are operating from your truest, most authentic self. Being true to yourself may seem like a difficult task in a world where we are daily required to wear masks and repress ourselves by those that can’t handle the truth. You may even feel overwhelmed by this idea, but remember this: you are only ever given as much as you can handle. When you take healing steps for you, you are also supporting, teaching and healing many, many more individuals than you may even have a conscious awareness of. Indeed, you don’t have to write a book, teach a seminar or even utter a single word. Simply vibrating from your own truest self is the greatest healing and a teaching to all.

Become renewed and transformed with meditation

When moving through a challenging growth period, where do you find support and renewal?

Your growth period may be quite a biggie. You may be handling some difficult energies such as disappointment, pain, hurt, confusion or other. Maybe life is challenging you to let go of your expectations about how things should be and instead surrender to the Universal flow? Whatever the case, spiritually we grow the most when we do not get what we want, because we are bumping into our own attachments to things.

Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck. ~ Dalai Lama

By default, when discomfort, pain or growth comes up, most people go into the habitual comfort patterns. They might reach for food, drink, entertainment or substances. They may be constantly checking social profile or email. They may spend copious amounts of time working or doing whatever else will temporarily give them an endorphin rush. These are the addictions and bad habits that only strengthen and confirm attachment to worldly things. The problem with addictions is primarily that they are there only as a distraction, a futile attempt to fill a hole that can not be filled. It’s like applying band-aid on a broken bone – it will simply not do the job.

Giving in to your addictions, however severe or mild they may be, might temporarily alleviate the discomfort, but completely ignores and invalidates the real source of your troubles.

In holistic medicine we look to deal with and heal the source rather than merely band-aiding the symptoms. There is really no point in wasting time with addictions and distractions. The only way through really is to deal with the underlying issues head on rather than running away from them. For most people, however, the source of one’s pain may be difficult to discern, so quiet time is needed to commune with the truth in one’s body and soul.

A good way to begin to renew and heal yourself in a life-affirming and holistic way and to connect with the truths in your heart and body is to spend time out in the nature. You might already have discovered this for yourself and may already be doing it regularly. If not, I highly recommend it – nature is a great healer.

Now, if for whatever reason you can’t spend time out in the nature, you could practice meditation and grounding in the peace and quiet of your own home instead. Adding daily meditation into your schedule will put you firmly on the path to balance and self-healing. Meditation and grounding may very well be the tools that help you through the most difficult times. I have not, as of yet, discovered anything else more effective and powerful.

I like to imagine my meditation time as taking the time to stop, smell the roses and nourish myself by drinking the life giving waters directly from the Well of Life itself, which is of course Source. I use meditation time to commune with the truth in my heart. I just sit in silence without trying to do anything and observe without judgement what comes up. Then using visualisation I might act on what I see or not, whatever feels right at the time. There are no rules.

At times we can move through life a little wilfully, trying to get our way, trying to control others and situations. And then act like spoiled little brats when we don’t get our own way. With meditation you can begin to transform this pattern and surrender to the Universal flow, which takes care of everyone’s needs equally. Through meditation you create the space to discover that there is no need to control anything. In such a state of surrender you instead become receptive to spirit to flow into you and as a result to bring you all that it is that you have asked and yearned for. And it will come in a more beautiful and graceful way than you were able to even imagine from your limited human perspective.

A revolution of the heart

This year has barely begun and already we are seeing global movements unlike any other. Get ready for the most amazing year in human history ever! A revolution is happening and it’s happening in people’s hearts.

We have all been waiting for this time of change for a long long time and now it’s finally here. As a species, we humans have been severely divided from one another by our politics, religion and even fear-based media. We have spent our lives in isolation and seclusion from one another. This has been a fragmented and lonely planet for many of us. But as the few brave people step up, speak up and get their voices heard, more and more people start to join in. We are uniting. No one gets left behind.

Thanks to the fear-based propaganda of the tyrants like Mr. Trump and others like him all across the globe, civilians are finally finding out what an immovable force and a super power they really are when they come together and demand to be heard. People are no longer putting up with things that insult their souls. As was the case with the ‘Women’s March’ in the US. It was an ocean of pink that flooded the streets and opened the hearts of millions upon millions of others everywhere on the planet.

Coming together means realising the unity of all – the good, the bad and the in-between. It means realising that we are all one. Different sides of the same coin as they say. Indeed, it all contributes to the whole and the overall forward movement. In fact, Mr. Trump did not start this revolution, it did not begin because of him or thanks to him.

This revolution was already a long time coming and D. Trump is simply a piece of this huge global change we are all experiencing. There is no one to blame.

However, just because it’s all happening ‘in divine timing’ does not mean it’s fine to carry on as usual and keep putting up with old destructive patterns. No. Those old ways have worn out their welcome. Now is not the time to sit on the sidelines – now is the time to move forward and to stand up for your values.

Women have been repressed by the patriarchy for thousands of years and labelled ‘the weaker sex’. Studying the female biological stamina versus the male biological stamina, I’m not entirely convinced that this is actually even the case! However, with the global change already underway, we will see matriarchy rise and shine like never before. And perhaps the most beautiful and healing thing about the feminine power is its ability to create a revolution that is free from violence. Its ability to create change through gentleness. There is of course still the undercurrent of divine anger against injustice and unfairness, but as we have seen, it is being channeled wisely towards divine action.

Over the coming year and beyond, we are going to witness acts of solidarity and unity with the repressed and downtrodden in a way that none of us have ever seen before in our lifetimes. Maybe even never in human history. Something extra-ordinary is happening right before our very own eyes.

The revolution that is taking place is the revolution of the heart. A global healing is happening and more and more people of different perspectives, cultural backgrounds, race and religion are joining in. With acts of love, courage, brotherhood and community, they are standing up to those that try to repress and divide them. The old patriarchal ways are being made obsolete. And we are coming together not just as people of different countries and cultural backgrounds, but as creatures of the same species. We are indeed brothers and sisters.

In the dark ages, greedy kings and rulers of the lands abused their people and claimed sole authority on what was true and got away with it. That was easy to do because there was very little information available and people were uneducated. Now, in the Age of Aquarius, the age of information, those kinds of leaders have worn out their welcome and then some! The old Tyrannosaurus rex type of leaders that want to lull us into a state of apathy and dis-empowerment are now nothing more than a mere relic of the past. People have awakened and continue to do so. We are so very blessed to be alive in this day and age.

While we definitely want to remember to stay in touch with our loving core while carrying out our role in activism we must also realise it is perfectly fine to feel anger and other emotions that arise when we see injustice happening. For example, when an individual who is elected into a position of power and leadership is depriving his very own people of access to even the most basic healthcare, you know an intervention is required.

The new revolution comes from people standing together. We stand with standing rock, we stand with women, with the people of colour, with Mexicans, with gays, Muslims and everyone. No one gets to be repressed anymore. We stand in protection of our Mother Earth and do what is necessary to protect her and to prevent dramatic climate change.

Probably the best thing to come from all of this is that all those who have been previously repressed will now have enough space and permission to come forward and feel safe in the love that is abundantly pouring out to all equally and without discrimination.

Heal with forgiveness

At times the people in our lives can say or do things that can be hurtful to us. Maybe something happened ‘in the heat of the moment’ or maybe no harm was even intended and simply an old wound got lit up for you.

Whatever the case, things happen and we have the choice to either open up and bleed and feel it all or close down and put up a wall. More often than not people prefer to run, hide and build walls, which does nothing but contribute to the sense of division and isolation from others. It takes a lot of courage to stay in one’s vulnerability when things get uncomfortable or when pain comes up.

Whether harm from another was intended or not it is an immediate healing to fully acknowledge and own the pain that can come up at times. You powerfully heal yourself and others when you allow yourself to stay fully present with your feelings rather than casting them aside as troublesome or inconvenient. If you don’t own and feel your stuff now it will come up again at another time, so you might as well just go ahead and do the work now.

Sometimes disagreements arise between people because of their differences from one another and these disagreements can be resolved gently and kindly with respect and reverence towards all involved or there can be negative reactions that individuals usually wish they had handled differently. In those times we must remind ourselves that all of us are indeed spiritual beings on a human path and nobody’s perfect. We all learn and we all make mistakes – that’s what we’re here for and is primarily how we grow.

Each one of us is so very unique and simply cannot be compared to another. Everyone is different and has their own approaches and perspectives in life. Sometimes we simply disagree on things, but we can always agree to disagree.

Truth is, we all came from the same source and we are all heading in the same direction, too. That direction is love and inclusiveness.

There are different kinds of wounds and reasons for why they are created. Some of them can be from this lifetime and some can go very far back to past lives. It is precisely at that time when you are ready to face these old wounds that they get triggered again around a specific person or place. This is no accident or coincidence and was indeed divinely orchestrated by your essence, aka your higher self, so you could release the past and move on to greener pastures.

I understand that it can be very difficult to forgive an aggressor, but the thing with holding on to anger or unforgiveness toward another is that at the end of the day the only person these heavy emotions will really harm is you. Choosing to hold on to the old toxic energy of unforgiveness is an energy leak since by doing so you are in fact keeping a piece of your energy hostage in the past. That energy could be very well be used for something much more productive such as your creative projects.

Forgiving someone doesn’t mean you condone what they did. It means releasing the toxic energy you have been holding on to so you can move on.

Let me clarify this just in case it wasn’t clear from the start: there is nothing wrong with feeling anger, unforgiveness or any other heavy emotions. When an injustice occurs, an emotional response is only natural and is there to communicate some truth to you. However, after the experience is over and lessons have been learned, it is time to let go.

Being willing to release your anger and consciously choosing to forgive is a hello to the truth that we come here to have experiences based on our spiritual agreements with one another. Once the agreements are complete and experiences have been had it is time to integrate.

Everyone heals in their own way and at their own pace. There is no rush and there is no pressure to heal fast. Most importantly you heal by expressing your feelings and the truths that have been stirred in your heart. It does not serve anyone to hold your deep truths and pain inside.

Once you reach the other side of your forgiveness process you can once again start to entertain the idea that everyone is always doing their best. Yes, even those that seem to be outright intentionally harming others. Indeed, universal justice exists and no one ever gets away with anything. This Universe of ours is a very fair and just one and we are very blessed. Staying centered in these simple truths we can start to move forward into the future with childlike innocence and trust again.

Energywork tip: you can use imagination for this forgiveness exercise. Imagine a gold rose between you and the person or event you would like to forgive. Just keep saying hello to the gold rose until you have sufficient space from this person or event. Once you get your space back and become neutral to all the strong emotions that have come up you can start to heal.

Take your time

We are always in a hurry to get to the next ‘big thing’. Same happens as we move through the tasks in a day: we go from one thing to the next without taking a proper break. It’s like the disease of this century. There never seems to be enough time to just sit, breathe and be.

Having your to-do-list crammed full of items can be like an addiction. People even brag about having a lot to do as if it were a good thing. They pride themselves on multitasking and are always chasing more activity, more money, more this or that. God forbid if you sit still for five minutes and just breathe.

Living in this way, always hurrying somewhere, you are living with a large portion of your energy either projected out into the future or stuck in the past. As in, “I will be happy when … ” – you fill the blank. To a clairvoyant it will look like your aura is projected out in front of you. With little of your energy available to you in the present, you can easily become diluted, spread too thin and simply burned out.

Always having a lot to do and a chasing a lot of things to have throws things out of balance. When your energy is spread out to the past and the future, there simply won’t be enough of you in the present and you need your energy in the present to heal your body. We can restore that balance by grounding ourselves into the present by taking more time with each task, dwelling on them a little longer to extract the full value from them and honouring the body’s limits.

A healing happens when you ground yourself back into this present moment and choose to let go of all the non-essential. It is such a beautiful gift to yourself to instead slow down, choose to have fewer things to do and savour each moment.

This business of life and living, it’s not all about doing and having. Just being is also a worthy companion.

So, who or what has control over your schedule today? Does your to-do-list include breathing breaks? Are you the one choosing your tasks or is there some other energy outside of you controlling your space? Could it be your mother’s expectations of you? Take a look right now!

Imagine if there was nothing you ‘had’ to do, then what would you want or choose to do? What comes to you as an answer to this question is probably the most important thing for you to be doing right now! And that thing may in fact be doing nothing in particular at all and simply breathing.

So, today take back ownership of your space and take your time. Slow down and take your time when you have your favourite cup of tea, when you watch your favourite TV series, when you walk through a forest, when you water your plants, when you feed your dogs, when you play with your children or when you do your work. These moments are precious and will never repeat in exactly the same way again. Nothing is permanent. Infuse lots of gratitude, appreciation and beauty into each and every moment. Be totally present and savour each moment before moving on to the next thing.

Imagine if you were infinitely lovable and taken care of by an extremely compassionate Universe, savouring each moment without hurrying to the next thing would indeed be the most beautiful gift you could possibly give to yourself. Why are you in a hurry anyways when the whole of eternity is yours to play with!

Have fun with your growth periods

We all get those times in our lives, when nothing makes sense and it may be hard to sit down, relax and to just take it easy. You may be handling some discomfort or releasing some old pain. It’s totally okay to not have a clue where you are heading with all this.

Your body may be changing, your world views may be changing, your energy may be changing. You may recently have thrown out a whole bunch of old pictures about yourself or the world that you live in and got into the process of integrating a whole new you. This takes a lot of energy and patience from both yourself as well as those around you and there is no hurry through it.

A growth period is when you as a spiritual being are changing and it’s not always a very comfortable space to be in.

Whatever kind of growth period you may be into right now, please be very gentle with yourself. There is no perfect way to grow, no rules or regulations. You are doing the very best you can already. Indeed, you are pure love at your core.

So, on a more practical level, how do you handle these periods? Everyone sure has their own ways, but the best tool for handling growth periods with grace is meditation. Meditation makes it possible to instantly regain your space and your composure. When you sit in a grounded meditation space with awareness resting in the middle of your head – you reclaim your space. You take back your space to just be, to breathe and to have no rules.

I often talk about grounded meditation in this blog simply because it is such a wonderful and powerful tool for healing yourself and subsequently also for healing those around you.

With meditation you go from pushing and fretting your way through a growth period to gracefully gliding through it. Imagine yourself on a surfboard masterfully riding that huge wave of growth. Yes, you can have fun with it!

When you go into your meditation space you can come to awareness of the energies you have been carrying around with you. Instead of being at the effect of the energies in your space and letting them dictate to you how to live your life, you can be the one to choose what you want to keep here and what you want to let go. You can easily release pain, effort, resistance, heaviness, self-doubt, invalidation and all that is weighing you down. You can be your own boss and give your day a colour you like. Again, you are free to make it fun!

With daily meditation as your ally you can be in a growth period and still have fun and play like a child. When you get your breathing space back, you will know and experience in a very visceral way that no matter what, all is well.
