It’s the last day of 2017 and I spent most of this afternoon roaming around the forest nearby our house in Risti, located in the Western Estonia. My body felt very nurtured as I circulated lots of Earth energy and communicated with the energy of the land.
I am deeply inspired and in awe of the beautiful nature around here. Truly, Estonian land and people are extremely blessed with some of the most ancient and untouched forests. As I walked along a trail I came across many amazing photo opportunities and became more and more uplifted by the smells, sights and sensations.
Then I walked past an area where a chunk of the forest had been cut down and only tree stumps had remained. This had been a relatively small part of the forest and the trees from there are probably being used as firewood or building material. All well and good, but somehow I was overcome by very deep sadness and tears began to fall. I could just see the beautiful and innocent ecosystem, that this part of the forest had been, completely destroyed by humans. Perhaps the owners of this land are wise enough to plant two trees for every single tree that they choose to cut down, but seeing this destruction made me think of the same happening all across the globe. For example, right now beautiful Indonesian rainforests are being cut down by greedy corporations just to plant palm trees for oil production. Very, very sad indeed considering that ecosystems are being destroyed that had been vital to various species of animal, bird, insect and plant. We have yet to see the true effect of man’s greed on the planet’s climate.
There is already a growing awareness of climate change and this has been around for many decades. People are becoming increasingly aware of how their small everyday actions affect the nature around them and the planet as a whole. One of the marks of an awakened species is awareness of one another and the environment and we as a collective are finally beginning to wake up. One of the key lessons for us a collective is noticing that there is a direct correlation between the way we treat one another on the small everyday scale and how we treat the planet below our feet.
We humans are an interesting species. On the one hand, we are a wonderful creation of Source, blessed with much curiosity and intelligence and yet on the other hand plagued by a sense of entitlement and completely deluded by the belief that we somehow ‘own’ this planet. Few awakened beings have realised that one can truly only own one’s own energy and space. This means that one only truly ever has control over one’s own thoughts, words, actions and choices. We do not own this planet, rather we are visitors here. Through a beautiful, mysterious and perfect series of choices and decisions made as a collective consciousness, we ended up here on this planet. Being human and being alive is a wonderful experience filled with both beauty as well as challenges, however, we are not here to stay for an eternity. We do not have that luxury in a Universe that is constantly changing. Just as people have their cycles of lives, so does the Earth. We are currently part of an extremely beautiful time in the Earth’s evolution and as a species we hold the responsibility to ensure that the Earth remains in that beautiful condition that it still is in.
Through the senseless and unkind actions of many selfish and greedy humans we are seeing what damage has already been done to Earth. We must change our ways before it’s too late. Already there has been a rise of eco-warriors and people coming together to live in communities that are based around completely natural and Earth-based values. These people are renouncing the ways of the old consumerist society and adopt habits and behaviours that are essentially friendly towards the Earth. There are truly many, many steps we can each take immediately to support this eco-movement, such as: recycling, saving water, saving electricity, switching to eco-friendly household products and appliances, shopping locally and buying from your local farmer, avoiding GMO products and growing your own organic fruit and veggies, and much more. Truly, the list is endless, I could go on and on.
The time frame that we are currently into in the Earth’s and humanity’s history is the paradigm shift from a Young soul world to a Mature soul world. That is, we are collectively switching from a competition-based world-view to a community-based world-view. This isn’t necessarily an easy process and lots of growth pain is involved, especially for those that have little consciousness of what is happening. It’s similar to a child becoming a teenager and learning about his responsibilities in the world at large. Isolating oneself, playing the lone wolf and the ‘I win, you lose’ attitude no longer works; now it’s all about joining others so that life becomes a win-win for all.
The eco-communities represent all of what is truly the most optimal for the future of mankind. In these communities no one gets left by the wayside, not a person, animal or plant. Everyone is given a purpose to fulfil, everyone has a place and deserves compassionate love. As we take good care of one another and the Earth, we will have graduated to a whole new way of being.
